Last week on Thursday our class went out to play tennis. When we got to the courts we sat down,the boys grabbed a racket each and we had to team up into partners my partners name was josh. Hawks Bay

During the holidays at night my Family and I we left home at 12.o’clock.We drove in the dark, we went on the Motorway. I was really scared because it was dark. While we were on the Motorway at night it took us like 6 hours to get to the Hawks Bay.

Next when it was morning my eyes were really tied and I tried to stay up all day, then I went to sleep late and I woke up late at 3.o’clock. I was really happy to see my cousins and aunties. We also drove to my uncles house to help him fix his car. I got the chance to go to the waterfall with my friends, but I was really scared to jump off the waterfall.

Being in the Hawkes Bay for 2 weeks was cool. I hope to go back there sometime soon.

Today we went to the hall for hand ball skills first Michael taught us how to serve the ball to another person. Michael and Eamon was showing us how to hit the ball. Hitting the ball is like serving a volley ball and like a hand ball. Next we have to be in partners in four groups then we started the skills of hand ball. We started to serve the ball to the x on the ball and you make a fist with your hand. Next you place the ball on your hand and you hit the ball where the x is at.

Hurricanes and Tornado

Hurricanes and tornado are violent storms.Both have very strong winds.These winds spin in circles.A hurricane forms over the ocean.This storms is most dangerous when it moves towards land and hits towns along the coasts.A hurricane can also be dangerous to boats that get caught in it.Weather scientists,called meteorologists,can tell if a hurricane is forming.They look at photographs of the Earth.These photos are taken from space.From above,a hurricane looks like a big white circle with a hole in the center.That circle of clouds is about 300 miles wide.From below,the clouds look like a dark storms.Strong winds blow.Heavy rain falls.Huge waves crash.Most hurricanes happen during the months when the surface of the ocean is very warm.These months are called hurricane season.

On the first day of school we had tech at tamakI I was so happy that we had tech on the first day.So we had to line up to get ready to go to tech,then we started walking to tech in different groups like wood work cooking and other groups that we do.When we got there we had to line up where the teachers are standing so we went to our class we were writing about how we find out things like how they make things.In wood work you get to make anything like a truck and a car. I really like tech because teach people how to lean things.

In Room 20 we are learning about geometry and translation we are moving our shapes to another position with out changing sizes.This happens when it takes place when a shape moves in one direction one place to another,when you watch it move the shape doesn't change.

The Tornado

The tornado hit North Shore suburb of Albany at around 3pm yesterday,killing one person and injuring around 20, with winds of up to 200kmh ripping through roofs and tossing cars. A steady stream of people have been shopping and taking photos and about 10 workers from the Place makers construction site have been at the scene since 7am waiting to be allowed to return to their workplace. Inspector Gary Davey said police hoped to have a better idea in the next few hours stores at the Mega Centre could reopen. Shopping centre workers are lining along the road next to the mall waiting to hear when they will be allowed back to work.

health camp

On Tuesday we went to Health Camp and it was cool when I went there when I got there I went out of the van and I saw my friend Ronald and his brother and his little brother and we walked inside the camp and to get out name tag.After when we finished going to the hall we went to the drom and put our bags in our rooms. Next we went to school and saw our teachers at school and we went to our class rooms and I was in room 3. In the weekend we went to Omana and we saw some chicken walking and we saw some eggs.

Mairangi Bay

On Friday we went to Mairangi Bay and we went on the bus to Mairangi Bay and when we got there I saw weaves and it was big and when we got out the beach was big and it was huge. Next we went inside to put our bags on the chairs then we sat down on the floor and when I sat on the floor it had sand on it,then it was time for morning tea and we took our bags outside on the grass and we ate morning and after that I went and play on the sand and we got told to go back inside because it was time to go inside. After that we got change to go for a swim and it was lunch time.
We then went outside ate lunch then we went and play on the sand again and we took our top of and we went to the water when I went to the water the water went to me feet.Then we went with a lady to get our boogie board and my boogie board was pink then we went back to the water and I took my pink boogie board with me and we got told to go into the water and when I went into the water the weaves was coming to me and I went on my board in the water and the weaves went a little bet big and then the weaves pushed me to the sand and I went and did it again and the weaves was cool to splash in the water and the weaves was coming to me when the weaves was coming I went inside the weaves and the weaves went over me and it splashed on me and it was time to change because we have to give the other person the board and the person has to go into the water and the other person has to a life guard and I had no parta then I just had a free time in the water and a lady came up to me and said wheres your parta and I said I have no parta then we went and got change in the changing room. Then when we got change the bus to pick us up and then we went onto the bus and we went back to school.

Immersion Assembly

On the first day of each term we have an immersion assembly. The whole
school knows that we have a new topic to learn about.

The immersion assembly is a lot of fun.

This term we are learning about Mighty Mariners. The assembly was a lot of fun
because of Mrs She. She was funny at acting like a pirate.

Volcanoes

We are learining about Volcanoes. I know that the Roman god of fire is called Vulcan.
An eruption is caused by molten rock heating up. This makes it grow bigger in size. Now it has expanded, it needs more room and moves into any empty spaces. When these spaces are blocked the molten rock has nowhere to go.
Dormant means that it could wake up at any time. Extinct means that its all gone and will not come back again. Some volcanoes will not erupt again.
